External release notes – Grasshopper – Version 3.24.25

New Features

  • Mobile Driver App : Enhanced Stop Page
    • Improve the driver stop page to support services, multi-order stops, and diverse order types, ensuring drivers have a clear and complete overview of tasks at each stop.
    • The current stop page in the mobile app does not adequately support the latest GH features. Drivers lack visibility into services, tag-along orders, etc.
    • This enhancement addresses some of these gaps by providing a consolidated and intuitive interface for all stop-related actions.
    • The current implementation will provide a stop interface that provides the ability to see each order on the stop if this is a multi-order stop, currently only for multiple delivery orders.
    • Currently the mixed pick up (return order) and drop off (delivery) will still be displayed as separated stops, this gap is planned for future releases.
    • Key Enhancements
      • Unified Stop Summary shows total items to Pick Up, Drop Off, and Services.
      • Full support for multi-order (tag-along) stops—driver sees Order ID, Order Type (Delivery / Pickup / Return), and Service Level for each order.
      • This will allow a faster on-site checks, fewer missed items/services, clearer workload visibility.
      • Feature Breakdown
        • Stop Summary View
          • Display the total number of physical items to drop off and/or pick up
          • Display the number of associated services at the stop
        • Multi-Order Support (Tag-Along Orders)
          • When multiple orders are assigned to a stop:
            • Show Order Type (e.g., Standard, Pickup, Return)
            • Show Service Level
            • Show Order ID
            • Show Total Items and Services per order
        • Item & Service List Popup
          • Tapping into the item list will open a detailed popup showing:
            • Item ID
            • SKU
            • Item Name
            • Associated Service Level
  • Mobile Driver App : Improved “Customer Not Available” Workflow
    • Previously, tapping Customer Not Available immediately closed the stop with a generic “NAH” status, hiding the true cause of a failed delivery or pickup.
    • The updated workflow introduces a quick reason-picker so drivers can specify why the customer was unavailable—wrong address, closed location, missed window, or simply not at home. This granularity improves operational reporting, helps dispatchers decide the right next action, and ultimately reduces repeat visits and customer frustration.
    • Key Enhancements
      • When a driver taps Customer Not Available, the app now opens a reason-picker instead of auto-closing the stop.
      • Reason Options
        • Wrong Address – address on order is incorrect
        • Location Closed – business/home is locked or closed
        • Late Arrival / Missed Window – driver arrived outside the agreed time slot
        • Customer Not at Home – customer simply absent
      • From driver prespective a clearer fault attribution, better analytics on missed deliveries, and fewer manual adjustments in the back office.
  • Remote Return Order and Service Ticket Creation For VC (Virtual Carrier)
    • Enhance the platform to recognize when a shipper acts as a Virtual Carrier (VC) and enable remote creation and visibility of Return Orders (RAs) and Service Tickets.
    • This streamlines workflows and ensures Virtual Carrier maintains direct visibility over return-related logistics without requiring login to the partner’s shipper environment.
    • This feature requires configuration made on the partner side, one that can be done by GH support team
  • Mobile Driver App : Multi-Hub Zip Code Support and Routing Enforcement
    • This release introduces significant upgrades to how zip codes are managed and utilized within the system, with a focus on supporting multi-hub operations and improved routing logic.
    • These enhancements improve flexibility, visibility, and enforceability across regional logistics configurations.
    • Key Enhancements
      • Multi-Region Zip Code Assignment
        • The system now allows a single zip code to be assigned to multiple regions.
        • This supports multi-hub coverage, enabling logistics planners to route orders more efficiently based on operational needs.
        • One of the regions will be flagged as the default for each zip code.
      • Updated Zip Code Assignment UI
        • The interface for assigning zip codes to sub-regions has been fully redesigned using the new UI architecture.
        • Improvements include:
          • Streamlined layout for better usability
          • Enhanced search and filtering
          • Clear visual indication of default and secondary region assignments
      • Zip Code Display in Region Management
        • The Region screen now includes a Zip Code View with enhancements:
          • Shows the default region each zip code is assigned to
          • Provides visual context in cases where a zip code is shared across multiple regions
          • Allows admins to quickly identify shared vs. exclusive zip codes
      • API & Import Enforcement for Non-Default Region Routing
        • Logic:
          • If no region is specified, the system defaults to the default region for the zip code.
          • If a region is specified and it’s not the default, the system will enforce that:
          • The region is already assigned to the zip code
          • Otherwise, the request will fail with a validation error
          • This ensures routing accuracy and data integrity in multi-hub configurations.
    • Important Notes
      • Zip codes must be explicitly assigned to secondary regions to enable enforcement and routing.
      • These changes affect both manual order creation and automated integrations via import/API.
